This restaurant is a MUST in Florence (Firenze)! The most fantastic meal we have enjoyed in Italy (one of our best ever)! The restaurant, the music & environment, the staff, the Chef, and THE FOOD, are all amazing!!! Small and quaint and intimate dining. A family group or a romantic dinner for two - THIS is your place and the price is SURE to please you (far less than would be expected)!!!!
We did the 5 course chef-recommended dinner with the chef's wine recommendation at each course!
Pasta with prawns, raw red drum fish, duck breast with the most amazing demi-glaze gives your palette a full and complete array of tastes and paired with the correct wine brings out even more amazing flavor. My family loved the restaurant, the staff, the atmosphere and the food! We had the most amazing time! In fact, time flies by as you enjoy this amazing experience!!! We will be back again and again. It was recommended to us by a young lady working at Gucci Garden - she said "this" is where you want to go and was she ever correct!!!! After dinner, hope over and stroll along the river and breath in the air and just relax!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marie B.Duomo, Floransa, İtalya0329 Eyl 2023
Absolutely wonderful!!! The flavors were complex and layered. The Risotto was the best that I have ever had! My husband is vegan and their vegan selections for dinner and desert were fabulous. They chose a local wine for us that I dying to have again. The restaurant is a small, intimate, lovely place. I will never forget the chocolate mousse. It is a MUST on any visit to Florence!!!!! The service was equally spectacular! I want to go back!!

We really enjoyed our meal at Cuculia. Very friendly staff and unique dishes. The presentation of the food was really 5 stars. We showed up at 10:30 with our little kids and they were very accommodating. For service I would give them 5 stars as well. The only reason we rate it at 4 stars is that some of the dishes can be a bit light and lack sufficient flavor to make you full and satisfied. The food is very delicate and you should be prepared to spend a reasonable amount of time as the staff really does want you give you the time to enjoy the meal. Don't go when you are rushed and order a couple courses so that you can really taste the chefs creations.
Our favorites: Seitan, Gazpacho, Millefoglie
Great Vegetarian options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christine P.Ontario, ABD23555172529 Eki 2015
Amazing presentation and food!
Chef really likes what he does, he has a talent for this and a passion for food.
Complimentary tomato gazpacho soup with carrots, mushroom, sesame seeds and lettuce was really good!
Vegetable spring rolls were amazing!!
Tagliatelle - I really liked flavor of this dish. It was amazingly fresh and delicious!
Mediterranean potato floral pasta filled dish was pretty good too.
No official desserts on the menu, just a display of biscotti, coconut balls, apple dessert and chocolate Brownie thing.
Great service, and very nice employees.
Decor is traditional bookstore, home feel to it. Small area, might miss it if you walk by, no official sign on top of building, but definitely worth it!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle M.Amsterdam, Hollanda16655 Eki 2017
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, and it turnded out to be a true gem! They give a really unique and innovative twist on italian food, with delicious and surprising tastes as a result. The restaurant itself is very nice and cozy, you kind of feel like you are in someones living room while the staff treats you very friendly and polite. Definitely a reccommendation!

Cuculia is an adorable, quirky bar/bookstore/bookshop/exhibition space on via de' Serragli. It may look small from the outside, but looks are very deceiving; to the left of the main entrance is a dining area with books, and if you walk straight ahead you'll find a long room with even more books, plus a tiny outdoor nook that's perfect for a cocktail by candlelight. They have a fantastic aperitivo that consists of a drink, plus a plate of food. But not just your usual aperitivo fare. They serve you a plate with several foods, artfully arranged. You almost don't want to eat, but when you do you'll be glad you did. They also have a long list of cocktails, long drinks, teas, hot chocolate, etc. They also have hold children's workshops, art show openings, performances, etc. Definitely pay them a visit. I wish I went more when I lived there!

This was our best dinner in Italy! Each course was a special treat, starting with the complimentary soup. All artistically plated! Wait staff was very patient explaining the ingredients and offering suggestions. Husband had the tuna! I had codfish pasta. Risotto with coconut was delicious. Toughest choice was dessert. Food Channel fans will love!

At first glance, the place makes you say "cuuuute" out loud!
Such a careful touch of design, warm colors, vintage scrapes, flowers of any sort, soft yellow lights, pictures hanging from the wall.
Service is welcoming from the start, they offer a menu both in Italian and English, but what is really likeable, they are not pressing like in some other haute cuisine restaurants.
We ordered a salad (the exotic) which was very satisfying and it would have been enough as a whole meal itself and then I took Maltagliati with ginger, yogurt and eggplants and a seafood dish that was salmon with a fresh tomato sauce.
They brought us an amazing gazpacho while we were waiting for our commande.
And the long waiting between the dishes is why I'm giving 4*. We weren't that many people and we sat at 8.40 and finished at 11.10.
Sometimes it's the best way to enjoy a dish and your meal with calm, but it's also true a little bit faster wouldn't kill.
In the end, if you have time, this place Is just perfect.
Pricy, but totally worth it!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
